Commissioners Present – John Brauer, Shashi Palamand, Mark Farley, Barb Moore

  1.    Call to Order

  2.     Approval of September 7, 2023 Minutes

  3.    Timothy Mulligan – Problem Property – The owners were sent a cease-and-desist letter, after 60 days a lawsuit may be filed.  The residence has been condemned; the main concern is to get the property fixed up. The taxes haven’t been paid for the last 2 years.

  4.     Treasury Report- The beginning balance in September was $15,691. We paid CTM (brochure distribution) $720, Doug Faehnac (music) Public Notice $60.69, STL Programs $175 and Where Magazine $3.74, leaving a balance of $14.531.

  5.    Traveler’s Insurance – Workman’s Compensation Audit – We have received a Notice of Reinstatement on our insurance.

  6.    Website Update – The Cookie Spree ad will go on the Website when the Bourbon Festival is finished. We are going forward with the SEO, the invoices through PayPal linked to our bank. Mark made a motion to pay for the SEO, Shashi 2nd, all in favor and the motion passed. If you want your event on the website, please call John Brauer.

  7.    Neighborhood Directories- We will advertise in the Kirkwood Directory in December.  Then we will advertise in the Clayton and CWE directories.

  8.    Neighborhood Signs – Legina will begin working on the signs.

  9.    40th Annual Cookie Spree – December 2, 2023 – We have the trolley booked for 12-4 pm, the trolley will travel DeMenil to Louisiana. The Print Bazaar is on the same day, Emily agreed to pay ½ for the trolley. John has posters and cards to pass out to the shops on Cherokee. We are asking the shops to provide the cookies and decorate their shops.

  10.  Speed Hump Update – Alderman Spencer has initiated a study for speed humps. Isaiah Santiago,  who is from Cara’s office, told us Cara is working to regulate short term rentals, she is interested in problem properties and better protection for boarded up buildings.  The street department is using cheaper signage material that is warping. If you see signs warping, let the street department know.

  11.   Public Notice Update – Our notice has been published in the St. Louis Daily Record.

  12.   Emily Thenhause – The Print Bazaar has 150 artists; they will be set up between 11-6 pm at   various shops. The Jazz Crawl is on November 4th, 10 – 6 pm.

  13.   Adjournment
