Commissioners Present – John Brauer, Shashi Pallamand, Mark Overton (Mark came late so not able to vote)

Commissioners Absent – Barb Moore, Mark Farley

Guests Present – Cherri Elder, Andrew Polacek, Qiana Baxton, Lisa Otke, Ken Ortmann, Linda Hoffman, Sade Weiss,

Kevin Taylor, Jackie Rabbit, Bill Standard, Tracy Hykes, John Curtis, Keith Saunchegraw, Shirley DeMay, Stephanie Militzer, Cheyenne Pfeiffer, Ella Pfeiffer, Jeremy Miller

  1.    Call to Order

  2.    Ken Ortmann – Announce that he is running for 8th ward alderman asking for your vote.

  3.    Shashi – Did an inventory of what the taxing district owns (poles, signs, benches, and trash cans)

  4.     Kevin Taylor & Jackie Rabbit – are opening a tattoo studio & art gallery at 2218 Cherokee.

  5.    Qiana Baxton, NIS – said Marine Villa community clean-up was a great success. Anyone can contact Qiana if you need lighting in dark areas.

  6.    Lisa Otke, Neighborhood Manager – She is still working & represents our neighborhood.

  7.    Sade Weiss – Candidate for St. Louis school board. She is a license social worker, working at UMSL in the Bridge Program. Hopes to expand community schools making them the hub and center of the community, asking for your vote.

  8.    Tracy Hykes – Candidate for St. Louis school board. She is a retired sheet metal worker, supports vocational training, technical and trade school for those who don’t want to go to college, asking for your vote.

  9.    Mark Farley – Doing a great job on the website. Anyone who wants updated Bylaws - they can be found on the webpage. Soon, taxing meeting minutes & agenda will be posted on the webpage.

10. Andrew Polacek – Gave an update on the Native American statue. Andy asked the board to consider donating whatever they deemed suitable to help cover advertising or community celebration costs. This was tabled until our next meeting in March – only 2 board members were present at the time of request.

11. Brochure update – tabled until March.

12. Adjournment- Next meeting is at 9 am on March 2. 2023, at St. Louis Paranormal Research, 1820 Cherokee Street. We will notify you if we must cancel a meeting due to bad weather, the cancelled meeting will be made up.
