Commissioners Present – John Brauer, Shashi Palamand, Mark Farley, Barb Moore

Commissioners Absent – Mark Overton

Guests Present – Qiana Baxton, Tammy Brownfield, Cherri Elder, Keith Saunchegraw, Shirley DeMay. Abby Steger and Eric Wild.

1. Call to Order

2. Approval of April 6 Minutes- Approved

3. Treasury Report – The beginning balance in April was $11,785.76. We received $11,734.97 from the city.  We paid Where Magazine $375, Shear Color Printing $2,875 for the brochure, CTM $1,080 for distribution and Global Insurance $1,345, leaving a balance of $17,845.68.

4. Sidewalk Selling – Qiana Baxton- You cannot sell on the sidewalk or block the sidewalk.

5. Advertising - Tammy Brownfield – Mark made a motion to advertise in the Community Directory in other neighborhoods, Shashi 2nd, all in favor and the motion passed. The Directory is not available in Illinois. Any event we want to advertise needs a 30-day lead time.

6. Beautification – Mark proposed we buy new Cherokee Indian signs; the old signs can be sold to shop owners. Mark will put the sign on the website. Shannon will have Operation Brightside flowers available at 2016 Cherokee May 5-7.

7. Brochures are available at 1947 Cherokee.

8. 1909 Parking Lot – The Expansion Church will catch up on the rent. Shashi will update the contract.

9. Music on Cherokee – Tabled

10. Webpage Update – If you have an event, please submit a jpeg flyer for the website. You can apply for board vacancies on the webpage, to be considered as a board member you need to attend 3 meetings. We should invest in a search engine operation for @ $100 a month. Mark manages our Wix page. We need to make an account for Cherokee.

11. Cherokee Caravan – Shashi made a motion to pay the workmen’s compensation of $1,040, Barb 2nd, the motion passed; Mark voted no. Next year a proposal needs to be presented to the Board 2 months ahead of the event.

The next meeting is 9am on June 1, 2023, at St. Louis Paranormal Research, 1820 Cherokee Street.
